The longest night

2016

Skol, a contemporary art gallery in  Montreal asked me to perform a New Year’s Welcome celebration for the Voisins/Neighbours-exhibition opening the 15th january. The installation contained a portable record player playing Schuhmann, a circle of holly branches, white fluffs of cotton and a festive tin. With a gentle clown persona I handed out cards on which were printed inspiring quotes by artists on art. The audience members read these aloud. I closed the  performance by wearing a crown of burning candles and handing out white paper crowns which loosened all up nicely to enjoy the last quote by Anais Nin: ” I am an excitable person who only understands life lyrically, musically, in whom feelings are much stronger as reason. I am so thirsty for the marvelous that only the marvelous has power over me. Reality doesn’t impress me.”
